Dear Members,

As I mentioned last month, it’s a busy time for the FTA with regards to events, CPD, and workshops, which is fantastic. In addition, we are planning and budgeting for 19/20 as I’m sure all of you are also.

A few things specifically I’d like to call out. Firstly, we held our second International Women’s Day event in Melbourne and our first in Sydney in the first week of March. These were outstanding events. We had an incredible, inspiring speaker in Fiori Giovanni who shared the story of her life so far as a child soldier in Eritrea, through becoming a refugee through Sudan, Libya, and Italy, and with much in between, ending up as a successful business and family person in Australia. I’d encourage you to read her recent book. We had great support from a number of businesses and individuals and I’d like to again sincerely thank MUFG Bank, Nadia Kentera, Melanie Webster, Sandra Perrett, Naomi Braham, Mark Swain (check out his book titled Banking 2020) and all of the corporates and individuals who came along and made it a success!

Two important programs are coming up – Essential Treasurer Series, our flagship annual update on what is important in the Treasury space, and Fundamentals in Treasury, our full day workshop occurring in Melbourne and Sydney, which we also hope to take to other cities.

Finally, the Board and Management recently met to discuss our longer-term plans, first and foremost our Purpose, Vision and Values. We still have some fine-tuning to complete, but we will be communicating this with the wider community very soon.

Have a great month and thank you for your continued support!
