State Committees

The FTA operates throughout Australia and ensures regional representation through the operation of Technical and State Committees. The Committees provide a vehicle for members to advise management on the operation of the association and discuss technical industry issues.

State Committees usually meet monthly and are responsible for providing advice on the membership training and professional development offering at state level.  Committees host the Professional Roundtable events and provide advice on issues to the CEO.

Any member is welcome to attend a Committee meeting to contribute views and ideas on the activities of the FTA in their region. State Chairs are always keen to hear the views of members.  Please contact us if you would like to be involved.

k-plangeKarolina Plange-Korndorfer CFTP
Treasury Accountant, Austal Ltd
Karolina Plange was born at the nerve centre of Europe, Bulgaria. Here are three amazing facts you should know about Karolina and Bulgarians: They shake their heads to mean yes and nod to say no; the rest of the world has got this all wrong. Like Karolina, Bulgaria has never lost a flag in battle. Lastly, just like Karolina, the ancient Bulgarian calendar is the most accurate in the world. Bulgaria is a Balkan nation with diverse terrain encompassing the Black Sea coastline, a mountainous interior and rivers including the Danube. Karolina has been working with Dundee Precious Metals (Canadian-based mining company) where she provided her Canadian colleagues with free lessons in Bulgarian history and correct accounting practices. After six years and after Karolina was sure that her colleagues have a good understanding of Bulgarian customs, Karolina moves to Australia in 2009. In Australia, Karolina found a great need for teachings of Bulgaria. Settling in Western Australia and currently working at Austal Limited, Karolina has assumed the Bulgarian Foreign Office and Treasury role. Karolina has joined the Finance and Treasury Association in 2014 where she is able to promote Bulgarian ways of life to a wide audience.

Corey Patterson CFTP
ANZ, Associate Director – Transaction Banking
Having worked in customer relationship roles in banking for over 10 years, it has allowed me to build an extensive knowledge of bank capability but more importantly through the significant volumes of customer conversations, allowed me to overlay this with understanding what’s important to finance and treasury teams, and how banks can be best placed to assist with finance and treasury teams strategic objectives with not only bank solutions but also through sharing of industry insight. My biggest passion is connecting customers with customers, to help build the knowledge base of our local market through sharing of experiences, agenda’s and challenges. Stripping away what a company produces/offers, I find the finance and treasury teams are all faced with similar challenges/pressures/head winds, and some are well informed and others don’t know what they don’t know, and I enjoy helping to bridge those gaps through constructive interactions.
